Thank you for your report. It is true that Empathy is the default IM client in Ubuntu now, and that is documented in the "Instant Messaging" section of "Internet and Networks". Unfortunately and as far as I can tell, Empathy IM Client is not available for Windows. I think we need to keep something here for IM clients, and don't see a requirement that this section needs to only include applications that are installed by default in Ubuntu. On that note, GIMP is listed but also won't be installed by default in Lucid.
Does anybody have objects to closing this bug as Won't Fix? Other ideas on how to proceed?
