Thanks for your answers. I understand this could be either treated by using the embedded JPEG (which I do not have with my camera), or only display the JPEG if both files are present. But why not just give the option to discard raw files ?
The mimic generated by Shotwell has a very bad quality compared to the JPEG generated with the Nikon tools for my camera. This is of course not a Shotwell related problem, but more generally that there is no open-source software capable to decode the RAW files as well as the Nikon tool does for Nikon cameras. In that case, I'd rather not see the RAW at all under Shotwell.
This is my opinion, some people may share it. A configuration to discard some file formats would be optional, very simple and could make everyone happy, no ?
