Bug Description
This is a metabug for users:
1) Having the Realtek ALC887-VD HDA codec
2) Trying to run "alsamixer" results in an error
This bug has been fixed upstream, so current workaround would be to either:
1) Install the latest kernel from maverick-proposed, or
2) Install https:/
3) Wait a week or two until the next kernel will be released through Maverick updates.
Please don't triage this bug, it is being taken care of. Thanks.

Accepted linux into maverick-proposed, the package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/Testing/ EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!
