Doesn't affect gnome-shell (no surprise there

Test case: Create any custom kb binding, try to use, not active
After a logout will become active

Thank you for your bug report, what shortcut do you change? Did you try the version in saucy-proposed? It should fix some issues

Really referring to System Settings > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Custom
Shortcuts > create one
In that case in ubuntu session it doesn't become active till next login

Just seems to affect "Custom Shortcuts", if I for example set a new or
change shortcuts in the other categories then they do take effect
immediately

Was fixed in an ubuntu session by going to unity-settings daemon but still affects gnome-fallback session from 14.04 thru 15.04

This bug still exists on Ubuntu 20.04 with Cinnamon desktop.

I have created a new bug report for the issue on Cinnamon (bug #1882375) since it is likely cinnamon-specific und unrelated to this bug; cinnamon uses cinnamon-settings-daemon instead of gnome-settings-daemon.
