Have the same issue with Ubuntu 17.10

$ uname -a

 "aplay -l" gives the following

Attempted to solve with following the directions here with dkms https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/UpgradingAlsa/DKMS

but did not fix the no sound issue.
