The header stays the same for now.

The Calendar app has uniquely paired swiping over the calendar area with the tabs to navigate the months. This is an exception, and only applies to the part of the screen where the calendar is expanded. This sounds like a custom implementation, yes.

Animation should remain the same for now.

Classic tabs should be removed. They were never suitable for touch.
