It would be very usefull if it supports multithread download for speedier downloads.

I'm not against other people contributing this feature, but I'm probably not going to work on it myself.

For one, I'm not sure that using multiple streams would result in significant speed gains. Download speed is typically limited by the overall connection speed, which is dependent on factors such as the ISP, location of the client and the server, etc.

there are servers that are slow and sometimes downloading from multiple source keeps the download speed to the max provided by ISP. happens to me quite a lot
