Adam, would you mind launching netflix-desktop with the "--showdebug" option and see what it says in the terminal output? It may be that your bug is unrelated, but it's possible that it's the same thing. Which profile folder did you remove? Depending on when you started using the app the folder moved to ~/.wine-browser, so googling the answer to this might be telling you to remove the wrong folder.
