I guess that you are using Alsa and not pure pulseaudio? Are the sound levels wrong every time or only occasionally? Do sliders in the Alsa mixer panel move when you begin to play a video in Lightspark?

Even on pulseaudio I sometimes see some erratic volume changes. The master volume sometimes jumps to 200% or even larger values when I open a video on Youtube. This doesn't happen on every video, though. There is probably something broken in the way Lightspark changes the volume.
