feature request: guilloche patterns

A similar tool already exists as script extension: have you tried 'Extensions > Render > Spirograph'?

I took a look at the spirograph tool. As you say it is quite similar to a
Guilloche pattern.
I guess the feature request can be dropped, then.

Status in Inkscape: A Vector Drawing Tool: New

Bug description:
Hello,

The Guilloche patterns seem to be fairly easy to implement and they look
great.
The Stars and Polygons tool yields some simplified Guilloche patterns.
I imagined there could be a similar new tool for Guilloches.

Please reopen if the Spirograph extension doesn't fit your requested feature or needs improvement.

Hi,

im for a special tool for guilloche patterns, too. Spirograph could do it very well but only in a circle. Function plotter should be able to do it aswell but im not great in mathematics to programm it for necessery result. Id like to have a tool similar to this one:

You may use Torapp guilloche designer(http://www.torapp.info), the interface is similar to inkscape in that you can directly change co-ordinates and other properties in text input.
the Torapp guilloche designer is free to use and runs as web-based application and thus all kinds of major OSes.
