Bug Description
(Dapper flight 3 CD)
When entering real name during install, the letter é could not be handled, it became <E9> and the textfiled got pushed to the right. It's also not possible to erase backwards after this.
Upon final install, "About me" can't display a name (it just says "full name" in small letters) and "Users and Groups" can't run at all because /etc/passwd can't be loaded. Manually repairing /etc/passwd to use a simple "e" fixed both of those.
There's several issues here, I guess, but it all starts with the installer breaking down and yet allowing invalid letters into the system.
Suggestions: not sure. Sanitize any input as a first measure perhaps - later I would like the system to handle my name properly (but that is perhaps another bug).
It isn't possible erase any text at all during the installation. See the bug concerning usernames (#31279), there is the same problem there (but with with serious consequences)...
This bug concerning accent marks (á, í, ã, ç, etc.) happens not only in "full name" form, but everywhere you can type during the installation.
