Bug Description
There's no "applications" entry in wingpanel in live session because ubiquity-dm removes it and either never puts back or Wingpanel doesn't monitor this setting during runtime.
I think I did code a hacky put-it-back just after launching wingpanel so ubiquity patches will have to be fixed either way.

Wingpanel indeed does not monitor this setting, will be fixed soon
