If you're at all familiar with such things, maybe try to strip it out and work it into a simple rtf2ttf app (as I suggested in a new thread on ubuntu-devel-discuss: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel-discuss/2008-August/005084.html :)
