Whoever is overseeing this bug. I believe you may have misunderstood one very key point. The VERY FIRST time I had this problem of it dropping to busybox shell happened after I opted for the upgrade to 10.4 FROM IN 9.10.

I was using 9.10 and the Update Mgr. notified me that 10.4 was out and would I like to upgrade to 10.4. i did the upgrade from w/in 9.10. It installed fine and booted up once fine w/no problems. I got a bunch updates immediately. The next it booted up I got the "dropping to a shell, busybox / initramfs error msg. It not only happened when I did it from wubi-installer but also from w/in 9.10 via the UPDATE MGR.

I only used the wubi-installer after the "automatic update to 10.4" option w/in 9.10.
