Also, I've noticed a few other people are having the same problems. I googled the error msg. and got a few hits on the web showing I am not alone.

Also, I downloaded 10.4 Kubuntu AND DID NOT HAVE ANY SUCH PROBLEMS. I just don't like the KDE desktop experience. I uninstalled it. I now regret that.
