I agree, I like it better. FYI, we call apt-install lupin-support within autopartition-loop (partman-auto-loop). Also the plan is that once we move a loopinstallation onto dedicated partition, lupin-support gets uninstalled, and the resulting system has to be identical to one installed directly to a dedicated partition.
