I have been fighting something that sounds a lot like this bug. via google it looks like it is pretty common on ubuntu 9.04 (My rev). The consensus on the web is to downgrade to 1.6
I am able to connect manually (ie run wpa_supplicant with my own config file) and I am able to connect to my open network (which is from the same router). So it sounds like it might be an issue with what command is being fed to wpa_supplicant.
Anyway wanted to give you guys a heads up to see if you can boost the priority on the bug.
