I have pushed a branch called abbreviate-headers that has two changes related to integrating the shrunken-headers capability into standard VM. One is pretty much the same as shrunken-headers except is re-implemented and allows a variable to control what to do with specific headers ("To" can show more/less lines than "Subject" for example). Also along the same lines is a function for filling headers (will do unanimously) to a particular line indicated by vm-fill-headers-column (default is nil: do not fill headers at all). See variable vm-abbreviate-headers for the shrunken headers like customization.
I would appreciate if anyone would give this a shot and let me know what they think or any problems encountered. I have been using it for a few days now without problems but may not have encountered some cases.
Hey all,
