Hi there,
as I posted above, I have the same issue on my Thinkpad W510. I edited a resume script in /etc/sleep.d as followed:
vim /etc/pm/sleep.d/03_bug_nvidia_unity_replace
chmod + x
#!/bin/sh # # after suspend restart unity, because of artifacts
<code> for USR in "$(ps aux |grep unity-panel-service|grep -v grep |cut -f1 -d' '| uniq)"; do case "$1" in suspend) echo "do nothing" ;;
hibernate) echo "do nothing" ;;
thaw|resume) echo "do nothing" su - $USR -c "DISPLAY=:0 unity --replace" ;;
*) exit $NA ;; esac done </code>
