Same problems here with Ubuntu 14.04 on Sony Vaio VPCF22L1E/B with GeForce GT540M videochip.

Before on 12.04, 12.10, 13.10 no problems.

#8 fixes the window borders. but makes general menus and notifications in the top bar disappear.
