OLIVER, In compact mode, Google Chrome will let you drag it as far as you can if you select the option in appearances to Hide system title bar and use compact borders. Sometimes I drag a window out of the way and if you look at the pix attached to my report above, you will see I lost the top area of chrome that has the max/min buttons. Another thing is Google Chrome does not give you a system menu in the top bar if you are in compact mode.
So I turned that off and used system title bars to avoid losing the controls BUT I prefer compact mode.
The "ALT" drag works to drag it back.
I did look everywhere for the Unity 2d shortcut lists including googling and have the desktop wallpaper set to the unity shortcut list. As you are aware not all the unity 3d shortcuts works for 2d.
Another thing that happened the other day is I clicked a Java script link to open a window in chrome from my banking website that forced the window to maximize without system bars and title bars and had no way to resize it or close the window. After I got OLIVERS response I went back to my banking website and re-clicked the link and tried to use the ALT to drag the window and it would not.
This may seems like small issues but these are problems everyday users could have that could stain the creditability Ubuntu unity desktop.
One thing I have seen since the last 2 updates in the last view days is that now if I click on Google Chrome in the launcher it does now pull up which windows are open and you can click your window of choice. That didn't work when I first filed my report.
I am sure this is more a Google Chrome application issue than unity 2d now. BUT unity 2d needs to give us an emergency way out if an application doesn't play nice especially since Ubuntu Oneiric is contemplating on Unity 2d in the next release if I am not mistaken.
