No, I don't believe that is the bug affecting it, as I don't get that message in my error log. But I had a go at installing cups 1.2.1 from source. when i do, i am no longer able to use local printers, for some reason. all other types are ok (in the kde add printer wizard) but local printer is greyed out, and all existing usb printers are rejecting jobs.
