I'm seeing this as well: after upgrading to 15.04, I sometimes don't get automatically connected to my default network, because it hasn't been found yet. A manual 'sudo iwlist scan' is needed to get it to find the network, upon which it does automatically connect.
I installed a fresh copy of 15.04, retaining my home partition. /etc is entirely fresh
