You may need to run 'dpkg-reconfigure linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22-14-generic' to rebuild your module list to include the volatile modules ('depmod -a' on a fully booted system should also work). You can check to see if this is the cause by comparing the output of the following command with your machine:
