Changed are not being stored properly.
Steps to reproduce:
1. open new math doc
2. add any equation -> see the save icon indicates there are changes that need to be saved.
3. click anywhere or arrow anywhere -> see the save icon go back to indicating there are no changes.
Additionally you can close the doc in this state and you will not be prompted to save/discard changes.
