[ALSA] [PATCH] System76 darp5 and oryp5 fixups

Attached is the oryp5 patch

These two patches were both accepted to the upstream kernel, and can be seen here:

This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem. While running an Ubuntu kernel (not a mainline or third-party kernel) please enter the following command in a terminal window:

apport-collect 1815831

and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'.

If, due to the nature of the issue you have encountered, you are unable to run this command, please add a comment stating that fact and change the bug status to 'Confirmed'.

How are things going with this? Can I test new kernel debs to confirm a fix?

As far as disco is concerned, we can give you a test build if you want, but there should be a new 5.0 build available early next week if you don't mind waiting.

I thought someone else was going to be working on the SRU for these patches, but I'll double check on that.

I am looking into it right now. If approved, how soon do you think it would be before a kernel is released?

I can confirm that these two kernels fix issues for me on both machines, on both 18.04 and 18.10. Would this also be added to the 18.04 HWE kernel?

Thanks, kernels should hit the updates pocket in about 4.5 weeks. I will submit patches for both the 18.04 and 18.10 kernels.

I just confirmed the patch in proposed works in bionic (4.18.0-17-generic). Testing cosmic next.

Kernel in cosmic proposed also works and fixes this issue. Tags updated.

Any chance this could land in the xenial HWE kernel as well?

The xenial hwe kernel uses the same source as the bionic kernel, so getting it into bionic also gets it into the xenial hwe kernel.
