[Impact]
The Ubuntu kernel is not currently bootable on various arm64 laptops (HP Envy x2, Asus NovaGo, Lenovo Miix 630, Lenovo Yoga C630, Samsung ...) because of EFI memory permissions/
[Test Case]
Install and boot Ubuntu on one of the above arm64 laptops.

This commit adds support for an optional kernel command line parameter so there is minimal to no risk.
