Is the 27.3 Mbit/s throughput transmit (laptop -> AP) or receive (AP -> laptop) speed? That's an important detail to know.
Also I see claims that this is a firmware problem, how was that conclusion made?
If receive throughput is good but transmit throughput is low when it's most like the longstanding problem ath10k has with Linux TCP stack. To confirm that there's a hack patch which workarounds the issue:
