So... which workaround do you mean? Turning off DRI and composite as in the Release Notes? If that, it's most unfortunate having to decide between Jaunty and a crippled system... I hope you will reconsider, at least by way of a PPA.

Has the problem being identified? It's a kernel one? Updating to a newer kernel from kernel.org (I am running 2.6.29.1 now with Intrepid, with no problems at all) can help to solve the problem?
