Hallo Bryce
No I'm not able to reproduce this using totem.
My system never experience this issue before.
Never experienced freeze in Raring developement.
Describing better, initially I've noted the freeze of Unity, but X was working, then after some seconds, Unity and compiz wasn't working (launcher and windows borders disappeared as showed in the attached screenshot).
Also I've noted this in .xsessionerrors:
[mi] EQ overflowing. Additional events will be discarded until existing events are processed.
[mi] These backtraces from mieqEnqueue may point to a culprit higher up the stack.
[mi] mieq is *NOT* the cause. It is a victim.
intel(0): Detected a hung GPU, disabling acceleration.
intel(0): When reporting this, please include i915_error_state from debugfs and the full dmesg.
