Why was xf86-video-modesetting implemented into xorg-server?
Now that Debian and Ubuntu are using xf86-video-modesetting instead of xf86-video-intel, it's no longer possible to upgrade the DDX driver without upgrading xorg-server, since xf86-video-modesetting no longer is a separate package.
Oibaf has already said that he will not include updates for xorg-server in his PPA:
