Playback of flash (.flv) videos is very jerky in applications using the xine engine, such as kaffeine, gxine and democracy player. For instance a camera zoom takes place in discreet steps of, at a guess, around 300ms each. This problem does not occur in MPlayer or VLC. Playback in the Adobe Flash plugin is pretty crappy and jumpy too, but not nearly as bad as it is in xine.
I am running Feisty on a 2.8GHz P4 with a Radeon 9200SE for graphics.
Binary package hint: libxine1

If you want to see the bug in action then probably any video on YouTube would do. The one I've done the most testing on is found at http:// youtube. com/watch? v=cf0JoOBUyJ0 . The direct download link is http:// sjc-v132. sjc.youtube. com/get_ video?video_ id=cf0JoOBUyJ0 .
