I am writing this from a LiveCD of Lucid, with no additional PPAs installed or anything. I am running amd64.
The tablet still does not work. I am able to get it associated with relative ease (associating works, but syslog shows errors. Turning the tablet off then on again syslog shows no errors.)
I'll run the apport command.
Note that Ben in comment 10 had already tried this on Lucid, and in fact seems to have tried with some PPA software installed.
