Hi, it had to do with the update manager not installing or accessing the updates from the web. I'm an Australian living in England. I've not done anything Ubuntu related recently as I've been on deadline for work.

Status in “update-manager” source package in Ubuntu: Confirmed

Bug description:
Binary package hint: update-manager

My update-manager crashed saying some files where not available (i got 404ś on the site where the files supposed to be) . I filed a bug report and the answer of one of the tech was that he doens't accept bugs with unsupported repositories. Only then I got the message and deleted some of the repositories.

I wish the Update-manager told me right away that:
- the errors where related to unsupported repositories
- removing the unsupported repositories would be wise
- telling me how to remove the unsupported repositories (inclusing pressing 'apply'' in Apt - which i didn't the first time. I removed them and they were gone, I wrongly thought...)
