Bug Description

I don't see the current keyboard layout i choose on the system tray (Like 'us' US english or 'ru' for russian). I have these keyboard layouts added. Tried to look for a possibly missing package with no luck.
Asked a question in askubuntu, and got a reply from an Ubuntu member that it's probably a bug. He replied me and said to write `ubuntu-bug unity` command and now I'm here. I think it's possible that the issue is with the "indicator-keyboard" package.

I have a similar problem. The keyboard indicator shows "en" regardless of the cureent keyboard layout chosen.

In addition, I've noticed that while I have 2 keyboard layouts configured (English and Herbew), Alt-Shift goes through a cycle of length 3: English-English-Hebrew.

I've recently upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04, and this problem didn't occur before the upgrade.

New information: I've noticed that the problems I described in my previous comments occur only when I use the Alt+Shift keyboard shortcut (configured in gnome-tweaks). When I use the Super+Space keyboard shortcut (configured in Ubuntu settings) the keyboard indicator shows the correct layout, and the layout cycle is of length 2.
