This affected me the exact same way except that I had previously (before upgrading to 16.04) mapped Alt+Q to switch windows instead of Alt+Tab. Everything else was the same: previous OS version, screen-shot, and behavior. Alt+Q now tries to switch windows (the switcher momentarily pops up), but closes the current window instead.
