It happened again.

I spent a long time yesterday working on file 1989-07.html on machine one (as called above), and it synced OK.

Later I was on machine two, and only looked at the file to check it looked OK.

This morning it got replaced on machine one by the old version of the file.

Including syncdaemon.log from machine one with this message
