Hi Davide,

I think you may be suffering from bug #703115. Please attach a screenshot of what you're seeing since we don't add an (X) when the email is not registered, we add a warning to the email field when the server answers that there is a problem with the email, usually the email is already registered.

If in doubt, go to http://login.ubuntu.com, and confirm if your email is or is not registered. Let me know how it went.
