Fixed upstream:

bzr commit -m "* fix LP: #347972 - we don't unset gBrowser if its already set; this
  prevents gBrowser from being nulled in ffox >= 3.5 which caused null pointer errors
  in chrome places where gBrowser i needed.
  - update content/alternatePlugins.js" content/alternatePlugins.js --fixes lp:347972
