I have the same problem with my 2 laptops. (04-06 daily-build)
Strange thing: the speaker systray-icon is muted, even when the sound level is max.
(see the attached screen-shot)

But, in my case, this problem happens only on the live system: sound works as expected after the install.
So, is this really an "alsa-driver" bug ?
