I did disable the FastBoot mode (per the UEFI wiki page).
The drive with the Windows 8 setup is seen in the udev log as:
     /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SATA_ST1500DM003-9YNW1E135PG
A 1.5gb SATA drive
