I've just dup'ed another new case onto this, maybe this will revive the old case.
@KK if you happened to have found a solution/root-cause and thereby didn't come back here this is the chance to update the case :-)
And while touching the case I just wanted to re-state that various problems in this kind of setups all seem to have the same symptom on the surface being "Bad talloc magic value". But in those cases debugging revealed a different issue each time.
