I have provided a mokutil package with the fix here:

  https://launchpad.net/~vorlon/+archive/ubuntu/ppa

Please install it by running:

  sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vorlon/ppa
  sudo apt install mokutil

and then 'sudo mokutil --set-verbosity true' should work.
