It would be more helpful if you provided better information.
As such, only seems two solutions, either use all capitol letters or buy another manufacturer's hardware. Nothing wrong with using all capitol letters when a bug not fixed with a resolution goes unoticed and unfixed for so long. It would also be rational for people to start thinking their printer is broken at the hardware level since a fix wasn't implemented upstream.
