I am still having this problem on 9.04 for upgraded and new installation.
On my upgraded amd64 I have libpam-smbpass installed and it is the lastest version.
On my new install 32bit laptop I dont have libpam-smbpass installed and there are no entries for pam_smbpass.so in common-auth (auth optional pam_smbpass.so migrate) and no entries in common-password(password optional pam_smbpass.so nullok use_authtok use_first_pass).
Log Snippet:
May 24 09:10:01 scatha CRON[5026]: pam_unix(cron:session): session opened for user root by (uid=0)
May 24 09:10:01 scatha dbus-daemon: Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.35" (uid=1000 pid=3902 comm="/usr/lib/indicator-applet/indicator-applet --oaf-a") interface="org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties" member="Get" error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination=":1.50" (uid=0 pid=5026 comm="/USR/SBIN/CRON "))
May 24 09:10:02 scatha CRON[5026]: pam_unix(cron:session): session closed for user root
Dont think this is fixed properly:
