Ok, I can reproduce the issue with a full purge and reinstall.
The enable part is good on install - the service is enabled and not just dropped on disk as a file.
But the follow on start is what fails - which also explains why it worked after a reboot without further modification.
That is enough for me to reiterate until I have a fix.
