The cable between SANYO monitor/tv and ASUS M2NPV-VM is DVI to HDMI. Connected in that manner prevents automatic detection of correct resolution. Resolution choices must be created manually in xorg.conf for NV to display GUI correctly.
Once NVIDIA driver is activated using GUI Hardware driver selections the system reboots with blank screen. Editing xorg.conf reverting to NV results in working system.
Additional info:
The black screen issue still remains when activating NVIDIA driver. OS installs without issue using default NV driver.
Unlike some other posts (http:// guide.ubuntufor ums.org/ showthread. php?t=1494175) there are no lock issues. I previously suggested system freezes but now not so sure. It may be that NVIDIA driver not detecting DVI?
