Description of the problem

I can't change the brightness of the screen using the hot keys or the settings menu.
It is clear that these buttons are acting on the value stored in /sys/class/
However, modifying manually the value in /sys/class/
Troubleshooting attempts

If I downgrade the nvidia dirver from 510 to 470, controlling brightness works fine.
Using nvidia-driver-495 also works fine.
