This flash npviewer issue has been bugging me for ages (even moreso since Karmic). It seems the latest 64bit Flash PPA resolves my issues (for a few days now), avoiding the wrapper completely, and providing stability on repeated YouTubing (where I easily tripped on this). I expect similar results for firefox 3.5 version as well (noting my Ubuntu-Tweaked versions below), but have little motivation to downgrade and test more thoroughly.
ii firefox 3.6+nobinonly-0ubuntu1~mfs~karmic1
ii flashplugin64-installer 10.0.45.2-0ubuntu0~sevenmachines1
Trying to bring more awareness to properly installing the 64bit, I created a helpful little post
