@Owen: I saw where you posted that suggestion originally. I tried that and still got the internal error.

After a reboot it still doesn't work.

I tried to connect to it with my 8.10 laptop and got the same results using both my original configuration and the new one requested by Owen above.

@Christoph Cullmann: I don't use network-manager on my laptop, I use Wicd instead and have a static IP.
